Mercedes-Benz has launched the new-gen S-Class in the country. The model, which arrives in the country through the CBU route, is available in two variants that include the S450 and S400d.
Under the hood, the Mercedes-Benz is offered with two powertrains that include 3.0-litre, six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. The petrol motor is capable of producing 367bhp and 500Nm of torque, while the latter is tuned to produce 330bhp and 700Nm of torque. A nine-speed automatic transmission is standard across the line-up.
The seventh-generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class gets a heavily updated exterior design, while the silhouette remains largely unchanged. A few notable features of the model include rear-axle steering, flush-fitting door handles, AMG-spec alloy wheels, second-gen MBUX system, front airbag for the rear seat passengers, and ambient lighting with more than 250 fibre optic cables.
Exterior highlights of the 2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class include sweptback LED headlamps, a new grille with three horizontal slats, new 20-inch alloy wheels, and wedge-shaped LED tail lights. The model is available in five colours including Designo Diamond White, Onyx Black, Anthracite Blue, Rubellite Red, and Emrald Green.
Inside, the new-gen Mercedes-Benz S-Class comes equipped with a 12.3-inch tablet-like touchscreen infotainment system, a large free-standing screen that acts as the instrument cluster, illuminated belt buckles, Nappa leather interiors, and a Burmester-sourced music system.
